Come join us for a workshop imagining the future uses of symbiotic mycelial-bacterial materials to build homes. Together, we’ll speculate together about how a living, symbiotic house is born, lives, and dies. We will imagine the social and biological metabolisms necessary for a multispecies architecture, and put together material for a science-fictional instruction manual for taking care of future homes.

The workshop is co-organised by ROM and FUNGATERIA - a project organized in seven teams collaborating across European universities. The FUNGATERIA project focuses on bringing mycelium-based materials into an ‘Engineered Living Material' (ELM) context.
