Alice in Wonderland, Falling Down the Glory Hole
Glory Holes have had a seminal role in reframing how one can understand architecture as libidinal practice. By tracing the history of the glory hole from the toilet to the sex club, this presentation will examine the cultural and political significance of the latter and its context of birth, the toilets, through a genealogy of artistics examples.

Pierre-Alexandre Mateos and Charles Teyssou are a duo of writers and curators based in Paris. Their current projects include Paris Orbital, a public program at the Pinault Collection - Bourse de Commerce on the links between Parisian mythologies and pulp culture, a publication on homosexual cruising with HEAD (Geneva) and Spector Books (Leipzig), and Art Basel's Conversations at Paris+ program in October 2023. They have just opened Erwan Sene's first solo exhibition, Zona Gargantua at galerie Balice Hertling in Paris. In collaboration with Rasmus Myrup and Octave Perrault, they initiated the 'Cruising Pavilion', a series of exhibitions dedicated to the links between sexual dissidence, art and architecture that travelled to Venice (16th Architecture Biennale), New York City (Ludlow 38) and Stockholm (ArkDes Museum).
