Arkitekturfilm Oslo 2022

20 - 23 October 2023
VEGA Scene, Nasjonalmuseet & Kunstnernes Hus Kino

Welcome to the seventh edition of Arkitekturfilm Oslo!
This year's festival revolves around architecture and time, and how our perception of architecture constantly evolves.

The program committee has selected films based on the notion that architecture is statically constant. At the same time, it reflects contemporary society, economy, and aesthetics. While times change, the built architecture remains unchanged, and reality – which is fluid and relative – is defined by the eye that sees from different angles, at different times. This relationship between the static and the fluid is illuminated in various ways through the films featured in the program.

Architecture is not merely a tool for urban development – for change, renewal, and potential improvement of the city and society. Just like film, music, visual arts, literature, and performing arts, architecture serves as a framework for understanding our present time. ROM organizes Arkitekturfilm Oslo because we see the growing interest in discussing architecture and urban development as part of culture and society. We live in a time of rapid cultural changes, where our understanding of the city, places, and physical surroundings is continuously shaped and updated. Architecture is part of the "greater context" where we are all affected by and influenced by the architecture around us and its design.
