PIVOT POINT

Exhibition
Tine Aamodt
Curated by Henrik der Minassian
March 19th - 29th, 2009

In her solo exhibition PIVOT POINT, Aamodt is discussing the physical limits of the room. She integrates the gallery's architecture in her works, and then integrates the works back into the gallery space.

On the 1st floor: the galley space is depicted and presented in a "3-dimensional" version, so the visitor can walk into the work. Aamodt examines and challenges the relationship between a room and the picture of a room.

In the 2nd floor: she introduces a new, not native element into the room, and a spatial plan that doesn’t correspond with the gallery's architecture, visible in its entirety, just from a certain angle.

PIVOT POINT means fulcrum, the centre or the balance point. The term is used in different contexts such as mathematics, sports, finance, technology and language.
