About DKS LAB: DKS LAB is a nationwide network of professional development platforms for visual arts in Den kulturelle skolesekken. Visual arts in DKS encompass the fields of visual art, crafts, design, and architecture. The project is coordinated by Kulturtanken and is a multi-year collaboration between county municipalities, Sparebankstiftelsen, Kulturtanken, and host institutions. New for 2022 was a pilot initiative specifically aimed at design and architecture, which continues in 2023, in collaboration with ROM for Art and Architecture.

An overarching goal is to provide more children and young people with a high-quality encounter with visual arts, regardless of geography, economy, and social background. The purpose of DKS LAB is to build artistic and institutional competence in the free art field and to develop new dissemination forms for visual arts in The Cultural Schoolbag. The network's goal is to gather expertise and strengthen interest in visual arts for children and young people in general. Read more.
