With the invitation Thorleif Sunde offers an unexpected format for competition making. We have called this format ArkSelfie. The format made us curious: How have architects summed themselves up?

URBa gathers the seldom disclosed pre-qualifications and maps the response. This exhibition offers perspective on architects discourses and incites client’s feedback on the received applications. 

Many questions swirl around. Feedback and grounds for making new decisions are few, and in no way comparable to the effort we make before sending out applications. This exhibition is an opportunity for further reflection on: How do architects present themselves? And how do they define their activity towards potential clients? What are architects offering? How much do architects format themselves?

This exhibition is in many ways a summary of all these issues. If we are to move on, we need to set our present status. Thorleif Sunde has provided material ideal for this task.URBa uses the exhibition as an instrument to measure the present.

This exhibition has been curated by URBa in collaboration with ROM. URBa is Anne Wodstrup and Inês Almeida, architects practicing in Oslo. URBa work is a result of their relentless focus on our immediate surroundings. URBa is alert to the phenomena around us. URBa is attentive to the daily challenges of our urban culture, savouring the ordinary. In this manner, URBa has an opportunistic attitude, finding new possibilities, where shaping space is the media for successful services and valuable relations.
