As part of the ongoing exploration, ROM has invited Bull.Miletic to make their processes accessible to the public and have an open studio practice from June 15th to June 26th. The process will lead to an exhibition at ROM in January 2021.
The focus is particularly on historical connections between urban mobility and remote sensing technologies such as drones, satellites, and the geographic information system (GIS). With this project, Bull.Miletic aims to further develop what they call cinéma trouvé as an artistic research method. Using Oslo as a starting point, the project will explore how the exhibition space as a laboratory and machine can provide new perspectives on the relationship between the mechanical panoramic gaze of modernity and the utopian visions of the "smart" city's future. The project has a participatory expert committee, and Bull.Miletic aims to involve contributions from the public as a form of grassroots research.
